Still haven't seen the game, but I did see the Instagram highlight reel of Bryce Love's runs that Stanford Football posted...

WTF was Chryst thinking on Love's 3Q 7:23 run??  Chryst *got in Love's way* causing Love to slow down/stumble/get tackled.  I mean, DON'T GET IN YOUR RB'S WAY.  Sure, you want to look good blocking, but causing him to slow down and get tackled is not how you do it.

On that final play against SDSU it seemed to me that JJ was well covered and Chryst just put the ball up there, hoping something good would happen. Obviously, it didn't.

He was pretty well covered, but it was single coverage by a defender who gave up 4-6 inches to him.  It should have been a completed pass, or at the worst an incomplete pass where the DB makes a nice play to pry it loose from Arcega-Whiteside's grip.  But it was badly underthrown (or the route was run incorrectly, which I guess is also a possibility) and only the DB could make a play on it.

Keller Chryst has the 3 least efficient passing games of the Shaw-Harbaugh era (in terms of yards per attempt) - Arizona, OSU, SDSU.  In fact SDSU was the worst Stanford passing game since 2006.  Chryst's efficiency is trending down.
Chryst's passer rating vs SDSU was 30 points worse than the worst Josh Nunes game (2012 vs UW). His passer rating was worse than any of Burns' games as a starter.

But they don't totally blame Chryst. The discussion indicts the coaches more. Sam, RJ and David don't totally advocate a change to Costello because they are not confident of his success in this offense.

You may not if you listen to the Lombardi/Abetiya/Fisher podcast. The THREE worst QB performances (based on YPA) of the last 10 years ALL belong to Chryst. Not Nunes. Not Hogan (year 1). Not Burns. Not Nottingham.

Chryst threw that ball off his back foot, and he didn't have to as there was not tremendous pressure.

The pass was underthrown and thrown towards the middle of the field. That pass has to be to the sideline.
It was a similar error to the one Rosen made against us when Holder(?) picked it off and went for six in the play that got us going in 2015.
