And among other things, this is one reason I have bad dreams at night...and then wake up to one. Can anyone here express confidence that Bernard Muir would even come close to Bowlsby's two home run picks? We have one big data point and it doesn't inspire confidence. Any spokesmen for the Muir defense? I would genuinely like to hear the best defense / vote of confidence in a Muir football coach decision.

My hope is that Shaw will groom his successor from within. I think he will have a lot invested in the ongoing success of the program.

If Shaw leaves before Muir does - and I don't think that's very likely - I don't think Muir will need to hire someone who has no head coaching experience. There will be plenty of great coaches chomping at the bit to get the job. Both Shaw & Harbaugh have shown that you can compete at the top of both football and athletics.
