I don't believe that Sark asked Costello if he was 100% sure because that's a terrible question to ask a buyer of anything, particularly a 17 year old who's making a critical decision.  First, it is asking for a very rare degree of certainty.  Second, you're implying -- or at least enabling the recipient to infer -- ghost reasons as to why the choice shouldn't be in their favor.
