Right. That's how a 4 star becomes a 5 star when they commit to Bama. It's not because the services want to make Bama look good, it's because Saban has earned the benefit of the doubt.

Stanford jumps from 32 to 24 in the Rivals team ranking of recruiting classes. 

The quality of this class is telling.  Every other one of the 100 programs ranked by Rivals has more committed recruits than the Cardinal.

I haven't been around here a full year yet. We flipped a bunch of guys last-minute last season (Pryts, Hamilton, Eboh, Harrington, Segina) - were people on the board aware of all of these happening before the fact? I know people knew of Adebo in this class, but is it possible we could come out of the blue and flip someone else?

I, too, wonder about the possibility of flipping Molden. As is frequently pointed out on this board, admission to Stanford is one of the great predictors of ultimately committing to the program. I'm hoping that not only the coaches, but also the recruits themselves are in Molden's ear.

These would not be "flips" since they are not committed anywhere as of yet, but for the casual,observers in the recruiting world landing either Johnson or Warner (or both!) would have a similar, surprising impact I think. Though after getting top players from all,over the country, this shouldn't be surprising anymore.

I could see committing to a school before Stanford admission, to reserve your fallback option, and staying committed after Stanford admission, but to do so after being admitted is pretty rare.

Did he go through the admissions gauntlet so he could say he was admitted to Stanford?  I would assume being admitted leaves the door open for a grad transfer, or regular transfer as well?

He would need to reapply for a transfer in the future and admissions would base their decision on all factors including college academic performance.

I would assume he went through the admissions process because he was seriously considering Stanford and wanted to have it as an option when he made his final decision. He just decided for undisclosed reasons he would be happier and more comfortable at Washington. I'm guessing one of those reasons was proximity to home.

247's most recent listing prior to today's release had Foster Sarell #1 and Walker Little #2 which obviously was incredible, Stanford certainly has never had the top two recruits in the nation, few schools have. In the revised listing just released Little indeed moved up to #1 but unfortunately Sarell dropped to #8.
