Anytime you have a job it's good news. It means he has a place to train during the offseason - and get some coaching once the staff is in place.

Obviously good news for Skov. He chose to sign the contract, right? If he had better offers he would have taken them. If he had chosen to move away from football into another phase of his life he would not be back. In the big scope of things, of course, he would rather be signed to a more solid contract that puts him on a team's active roster, but hey, the dream stays alive and he gets to keep,working out and seeing if he can carve out a spot for himself in the NFL.

If signing Shane to the practice squad had just been a sentimental move by Harbaugh you would have expected him to be caught up in Jed York's house cleaning. But they want him enough to sign him up. I guess they saw something in Shane himself and thought it was good enough to keep him around, at least until the next camp.
