Hoping he has time to swing by a certain LB's house while he is in Texas.

He certainly would if he had a private jet and private helicopter available.

And a private jetpack and perhaps a private teleporter.

Why not deploy the VR capability to allow Shaw to visit all recruits simultaneously? Just ship VR systems around the country.

I was about to suggest an army of Shaw clones, but your suggestion is far more practical. ;D

We just need to build in the capability to climb a tree. Then we'll know the VR is ready for prime time.

The VR idea is a good one, but used this way: a set goes with each coach on recruiting visits. We don't need 100 of them, someone is there who knows how to use it, etc. during in home visits let parents and siblings try it. Produce a segment (not having seen or tried the thing, of course, I have no idea how this would work, but seems possible) featuring a Stanford star (no longer playing for us; I'm thinking guys like Sherman, Luck, DeCastro, etc.) and tailor the one used to the recruit. So, let the Oline recruit meet DeCastro, for example, in VR, maybe talking about why he chose Stanford, what it was like, what it has meant to him, etc. basically a way to bring Luck along on a QB home visit. I think if I were an 18 yr old star recruit it would blow me away. Might beat every coach raving about my mom's favorite dish. What do you guys think?

Sherman's version could be for DBs, Luck for QBs, DeCastro for OLs, etc.

Exactly. Cheaper than a Stanford Director of Aviation, less chance it doesn't work, etc. instead of a head coach telling the all-world QB how great it is, sleeping in your tree or whatever, let Andrew pitch the guy, dazzle him with the latest toy, and show rather than tell one of the things that sets us apart.

I'm talking about something that could actually happen next year. Why not? Holodecks? Not so much.

Once again, it comes down to the wire. I thought this might be the first year that Stanford could sit tight on the sidelines for LOI day, but it wasn't meant to be. The good news is that Stanford is in the top group for the #26 recruit in the ESPN300 and is in the hunt to flip three elite commits from powerhouse football programs. A sweep would make this one of the most memorable classes yet.Â

By #26 are you referring to Demetris? Are we really still legit in the running? He hasn't visited has he? Irrespective of him naming us every time, if he hasn't visited would he really ultimately sign with us? (I'm hoping I'm wrong about him not having visited.)

they have to have gone to the trouble of applying... and endured the anxious await of Admissions...
my guess, FWLIW... if admit, they will commit
