On it's face, this seems a lot like what Stanford is doing. The thing that stands out though is that UDFG hosted 8 DBs and 5 WRs who all hold offers. This is a list of 28 recruits for the 2016 class who have a Stanford offer AND who have either visited Stanford or put Stanford in a top5 or higher, AND have not either committed elsewhere or released a top list that excludes Stanford. I chose these criteria because they are an objective way to determine who are the recruits who are more likely to come to Stanford. I know this excludes a number of guys who we'd love to see in the class, but it's hard to say that Stanford has a great shot at recruits who don't meet these criteria. I welcome any corrections or additions.Â

Kemp came to the April Junior day and did drills with the coaches. He has voiced his desire to play OLB in a 3-4 defense, but the concern is that he may not have the agility nor the tape to support OLB at the next level. He has a build for a 3-4 DE, but has a preference to not put a hand on the ground. So, this is a question of fit and probably the reason our staff has not offered.
If I had a dollar every time I was distracted, I wish I had some ice cream.

Shaw will have to make another OT offer. I wonder about a Cali kid like Alex Akingbulu, who holds an offer from Michigan that might no longer be operative. Or Luke Wattenberg, who committed to UW a few months back. Alves is a good Cali OL prospect but not a tackle. If not one of those guys, then maybe someone who performed well at the June camp ala Nate Herbig.

Herbig is an OG. I think Stanford needs at least 2 OTs in this class since Stanford got only 1 in 2015, 1 in 2014, and 0 in 2013.

Herbig is an OG. I think Stanford needs at least 2 OTs in this class since Stanford got only 1 in 2015, 1 in 2014, and 0 in 2013.

Ah, I get it now. You meant that we need to offer an OT in the manner that we offered Herbig - not that we need to offer somebody with Herbig being an example of such a somebody.
Anyway, Scout quotes Herbig saying that Stanford is looking at him as an OT. Whether that is a passing thought or specifically where they view his future is not so clear.
