Mack did use "scares you to death" in reference to players who don't carry learned lessons over from week to week.  And he did say that the defense holding TCU to 20 pts "ought to be enough to win in this league," which is sort of the same as "That's the way the Big 12 is now."  I think he did mention "getting back to work" and also going up to Manhattan, where it'll be 42 [deg F] at gametime, so that's sort of like "Manhattan is a tough place to play."
