Well really not that surprising. Look at why Leach was fired from Texas Tech.

Reminds me of Mackovic at Arizona a few years back.
I give Leach about a five percent chance of staying at Wazzu more than three years.

From one of the comments on that article:
Quote:My son is a cougar and a big fan of yours. He sat in the library and watched your team's humiliation, as you rolled and rolled and rolled in the mud for two hours. He captured one of your teammates vomiting on camera and couldn't believe his eyes. Your decision is completely understandable and we wish you nothing but success in your future.
I have no idea if that is typical of Leach's um... "motivational techniques" and how that compares with what other coaches do.

One thing is very clear: Leach doesn't coddle players. I bet Wilson was used to being coddled, because he was one of the best players on a weak team. I'm sure Craig James's spoiled-brat son expected to be coddled. And if that's what you're expecting, it can be a pretty big shock when it doesn't happen. So I'm sure both James and Wilson felt like they were being abused.Â
But were they actually abused? We don't know enough to be able to tell. My guess is no, but that's a guess (and even without any hard evidence, I'd worry if my kid were thinking about signing with a Leach-coached team).
