I don't care if he can't play a lick, there has GOT to be a Denzel Jefferson out there somewhere in America.
Also a report making the rounds of the interweb that Devante Downs has torn his ACL. Wonder if that means he cashes in on one of his existing offers close to home. Or maybe that means he understands the real meaning of education and will make a Stanford leap.

There is.

Personally I'd prefer a Denzel Hamilton. Sadly, a Google search turned up a Mario Denzel Hamilton aka Slim Dunkin, an Atlanta-based rapper gunned down in a recording studio.

The coaches will search like men on fire to find him, taking flight across this great land, whether it's in Philadelphia or where they follow the Crimson Tide, blowing across it like the hurricane to look at kids in training day. They remember the titans who were found on obscure sandlots where no one else bothered to look or just saw average John Q. Sure, it might be much ado about nothing but this is virtuosity in pure form. They won't rest until they're out of time, and even then. They're unstoppable, really. They got game, and they're looking for glory.
St. Elsewhere.

Franklin sure is physical and strong.Â
DB Commits: Simmons, Murphy, Holder, Franklin.
Murphy and Holder are CBs and Simmons is a S. Franklin plays CB and S, but based on his vid, I like him at S. Maybe Franklin is a nickel back. Stanford is still in running for CB T. Alexander, S K. Tucker, and a couple other DBs, yes?

From a very reliable source, we are still in the running for T. Alexander.

(excellent chance) Tucker, (good chance) Alexander, (solid chance) Bonney, (maybe) Pickett, Hampton, Nicholson, (longshot) Watkins, Laurence Jones

Does anyone have a reasonable guess about the total number of scholarships we will offer this year? The unfortunate medical retirement of Drew Madhu I assume opens another spot. I was guessing somewhere around 22. Does that sound about right? If so, there are still plenty of spots available for some of our more noteworthy targets (Solomon Thomas, Nifae Lealao, Casey Tucker, Ross Piersbacher) and maybe a surprise poaching or two from other programs).

Austin Hall impressed in his showing at camp last month and is the first Tunnel Workers Union member for this recruiting class.

Technically Brandon Fanaika is in this class since he's coming back from his LDS mission. But he could also end up at NT.

Notice there weren't all that many pass defense examples? Seems to be a strong hitter with an aggressive instinct to go for a ball carrier. Except for the opening INT (and who wouldn't put that on a highlight vid?) didn't see much of him out in coverage taking on receivers 1 on 1. That is at least half of how CBs earn their keep. So far we look like we're getting more safety types than CBs. And Alex Carter is looking more and more like an outlier. And if Carter goes down....gaaaah.

I had forgotten about Fanaika! That makes me feel much better about the OLine going forward because my worry had been building up since we did not receive a commitment from Spain. With so many visits to campus along with knowning he was the furtherest along in the admissions process, I was certain he would commit.

Found this rare interview article with Joey Alfieri.
I do not have access to the pay material on this site but reading the comments from Duck fans was informative. They seem to believe he is headed to Stanford.
http://oregon.247sports.com/Article/Was-...eri-141667
My favorite comment from one of the readers:
"I am not sure why he wouldn't have a reason to be a little disappointed with getting a late offer... everyone else was offering except the in-state Powerhouse? With that being said, I would find it difficult to turn down Stanford, even if Oregon offered early. I bleed yellow and green, but c'mon, it's Stanford."
You're damn right, it's Stanford 8)

If Pierschbacher sticks to his Iowa commitment, at least we'll know why.

Haven't heard anyone talk about him much, the 247 prediction on Kirk Tucker is 100% Stanford.
Tucker seems to be quite a physical tackler with very good speed. It's always a concern moving a guy from up on defense to back, but Tucker appears ideally suited for Safety.
Would the DB class be done with Simmons, Holder, Murphy, Franklin, and Tucker? I'm imagining it is, with the exception of Terrance Alexander?
