Is kal State-East Bay the school I used to know as Hayward State? Or something new?

Is that an official name change?  kal State Sacramento has always been Sac State to me.

The school turned to that new name back in 2007 or 2008.  It was all part of an effort to market itself as the CSU for the SF East Bay rather than "just" Hayward.  To me the move always seemed logical enough.

BTW - is any part of this article really news?  Or at least is this news to those that surf news sites and/or read newspapers?

I guess I will need to create a flyer version of this to show my fine fraternity friends at ole UC B in October since they always seem unable to comprehend the difference between sticker price and actual price.

The real tragedy is that so many low and middle income students still believe that Stanford, Harvard and the others in that top tier are too expensive for them to bother.  It breaks my heart that there are not enough high school advisors to help those kids, but hey...far better to use State resources and issue State debt to support ultra expensive student centers for the athletic elite.  ;)
