Key Points:

-He was admitted about 2-3 weeks ago, so no worries on that end.
-Jameis Winston is apparently his "best friend" now, so I suppose that helps explain why we're suddenly in Winston's top 2?
-Coaches seem to think very highly of him and expect him to be a Doug Baldwin-type receiver.

If Winston somehow ends up at Stanford, we could be thanking Jordan for helping to reel him in.

I hope the type of "Doug Baldwin receiver"  is the Doug Baldwin of his senior year,  not the three years previous.  Let's hope the parallel isn't being made just because Dontonio is short like Doug.

Scout's profile is a bit dated.    Jordan is ranked 102# nationally at WR,  3-star.  Here is Scout's sophomore evaluation:

Average sized receiver, he has some time to get a bit bigger but he has probably topped out. Very good with passes in the flats where he gets the ball and takes off. Does not have a lot of side to side moves, pretty much a straight line runner. Passes down field he is slow to turn upfield and that costs him chances for bigger gains. Good hands.

Areas for improvement: " Downfield threat"  and "strength".

But, his offers weren't only from Lutheran Bible College-like schools.  He had 11 other offers,  including  an upper tier of Mich St., Boston College,  Houston, Maryland.  Arkansas and , notably, "local" school Texas Tech did not offer.  Second tier schools offering included: UConn, Duke, Kansas, N. Texas, Tulsa,  Toledo and Buffalo.  Odd there was not more Texas interest, but it's a talent-rich state.  That pass-happy Houston saw something is somewhat encouraging.  That ex-Houston coach Sumlin didn't then turn around and offer Jordan a chance to play at Texas A&M  kind of tempers that view.  Rivals gave Jordan 3 stars, but didn't bother to rank him by position nationally or in the state.  Looked more like a placeholder in the database.  Worse, a search on ESPN's database found no responses for Dontonio Jordan.  Might be pilot error,  but between ESPN, Rivals and old data on Scout...let's hope Jordan is just full of surprises for the HS recruiting establishment.

I think we want Dontonio to do better than that if our WR corps is going to become more than Ty Montgomery.

Baldwin also chipped in an extra 81 yards on rushes and 155 yards on 21 attempts on punt returns. He tied for the team lead for big plays (6 over 35+ yards) and was second on the team for receptions. Basically sophomore Doug Baldwin's biggest problem was that Tavita Pritchard was throwing him the ball (and that Pritchard was protected by a line that gave up 21 sacks, fourth in the Pac-10 for sacks allowed/game; I think that understates problems given Pritchard's mobility). If we can't do better than Tavita Pritchard (protected by a 2008 line) next year, we have bigger problems than what the wideout corps will look like.

Additionally, it's not as if we need to solve all our wideout problems in one pass. If Dontonio chips in some, and (say) Drew Terrell and Jordan Pratt and Conner Crane each chip in their little bit, we'll be in good-enough shape.
