I don't think any are coming back. I'm not surprised at Nunu or Mary Ashley...Nunu is really a wing or maybe a small 4, in the pros,  yet she had to play the post almost all the time. She can now go to a higher level team and play for a Final Four. Mary Ashley wasn't getting a lot of time here and I can see why she would want to leave. I think she would get more playing time in a different league. I'm not sure how much PT Carly would get next year...she was clearly not ready for the speed of the league at the beginning of the year.

I agree.  Really liked Agara but she struggled as the primary option in big games.  She was too small to score against good defenders with size in the post and opponents wanted / dared her to shoot from outside which she did at a 19% rate.  I’d like to see Eschmeyer in the post where she has the size to shoot over defenders and I think she’s a better 3 point shooter who hopefully will draw out the defense to give Swain some driving lanes.  I was hopeful that the Somfai, Eschmeyer and Agara lineup
would work but Agara at the perimeter just meant her defender would camp out in the lane and muck things up for anyone in the post or driving.

Ogden was second in both categories, but about 1 ppg less efficient than Agara.  It was a big step down from Agara to Somfai (3.0/3.6), especially offensively, and an even bigger step down to Eschmeyer (1.7/20).  Not coincidentally, our mid-season swoon coincided with her (and Leopoldo's) injury.  Her rating after injury did drop a bit, but she was still a great player for us.  By the end of the year, both Ogden and Agara had pretty similar moving average offensive ratings (about 110) and offensive box plus minus (8.2 vs. 8.0).

She will be missed. Third me. Ogden was by far our best shot creator. When she's on she can hoop it anywhere on the court against basically anyone one on one. 

Nunu would make an excellent small forward but we relied on her to be our primary post option and it never optimized her skill set. I genuinely do wish her well because I think on another team where she's not the 5 she could really play herself into being a first round W pick.

Having said that, I believe in the institution...and if the coaches are part of the problem, then they need to shape up or go.  The portal era means you have to recruit the team every year.  You have to reward contributors, and you have to coach players to play the game the rest of the nation is playing.  For better or worse, the era of the coach-as-deity program model is slipping away.

Well, one potential good thing on Instagram today.  Lara Somfai just posted sponsorship/partnership with Hotel Citrine in Palo Alto.  Hard to imagine she'd sign a new deal and then announce leaving shortly after.  No insider info, just nothing she announced the partnership, but I take that as good news about her staying for next year (at least, I am hoping!!)
