Final WCWS game today.  I am skeptical that Canady can go another 7 innings.  She has thrown every single pitch for Texas Tech in the playoffs.  Texas has been scoring in the 6th and 7th innings which shows Canady is getting tired.

That is certainly the most likely outcome. Still, I will be watching to see if this remarkable athlete and person can do the near impossible and win a national championship.  I love the way she owned up to her error in game one. I love the way she apologized to her team and then put her head down, plowed ahead and won game two. Her team obviously responds to her as they stepped up and got her five runs… just enough to win. And her final strikeout punctuated by the “Naijeri Stomp” was classic.

We are having the opportunity to watch an amazing athlete and person surrounded by a gritty bunch of young women go for it. They took out the “Oklahoma   Monster” (we couldn’t) and now face the evil empire in a one game finish. I wish I could be cheering for a Stanford team but that wont keep me from cheering for Canady and her compadres . 

Why it’s even better than going to the Buddy Holley museum or the San Francisco symphony .  But then I’m a sports fan.  Go get ‘em Naijeri and hats off the Texas Tech for putting this team together.

We also don't know what the roster compensation limits were. There could have been more money available for the "right player" to compliment Canady.

Independent of all that, TT didn't need to win as many games as it did during the season. Once the coach knew what he had (and didn't have) he should have put more effort into keeping Canady "fresh". That would also give the other pitchers the opportunity to develop as much as possible. 54 wins looks nice, but 48 (or even fewer) might have led to a better result in the end.
