It had to start sometime. The sound off his bat is almost one of a kind...witness the first blast to right today. Plus, he has a beautiful swing. It will be fun to watch, methinks.

A couple ABs like that can be tough to come back from, but he went 3-3 with 2 HRs in his final 3 ABs. Good mental toughness.

Fair enough; I just thought it was funny to hear the announcer say it, literally just before Sasaki creamed the ball. Sort of like a reverse announcer jinx.

The shoestring catch to end the seventh thinning. It’s a pretty good example of what Mr. Bates can do.
