Is she THE player of the week or A player of the week? Article is confusing to me. If THE, amazing she beat out Clark, who had one game with 44 points and another with a triple double. At any rate, terrific to see the recognition.
Watching Utah vs Baylor right now, but tuned in late and have sound off. From box score, Pilli started, but she hasn't played since I tuned in, midway thru 1st quarter. And she has no points, no rebounds, etc. Baylor leading at halftime 39-33. Utah is a much weaker team without Pilli

Article says they are handing out 5 awards each week. Doesn't say who else was honored.

Duke, our opponent on Sunday, barley escaped on the road against Columbia 66-62. Columbia had tied the game 60-60 with 3 minutes to play. Columbia does not have a player over 6'1.

Since Stanford will have scholarships available for next season, they should keep their eye on Columbia's senior guard Abbey Hsu. 1st team All Ivy last year on a team that won the Ivy League. She shoots A LOT of 3s (9 per game) but made 37.5% of them last season. Maybe a replacement for Jump.

Just cleared security at the Indianapolis airport. As you wait in the security line, you are greeted by Lexie Hull.
Not the real Lexie Hull, of course. But a mighty nice video.

It's absolutely insane what NIL has brought to the table for programs like LSU. The rumour is that Joyce Edwards was offered 2.2 million if she signed at LSU, including transportation locally, a three bedroom apartment, and no in-person classes after her first year on campus. If she didn't go with that - it makes you wonder what South Carolina offered her in order to beat out THAT offer.
Also, Twitter is blowing up with a feud at LSU - so wild to see that program be in flames as parents battle each other.
This landscape is just a hellscape and I want out.

Duke in all sorts of trouble tonight on their home floor as Davidson tries to seal the upset. Davidson leads, 59-52 with 3:34 to go.
Davidson seals the deal. Duke likely to come in with something to prove on Sunday. It should be a good one.

I think it’s pretty widely accepted that it’s not true re: Joyce. It started by some random on the boneyard and then picked up by some randoms on Twitter/X.
However, the LSU drama is definitely happening! It seems to be getting ugly between parents and past players. And seems like Reese may be getting suspended bc of grades. ??♂️

One nice improvement over last season:
Our FT shooting currently stands at 51/58 (87.9%) through three games, good for approximately 4th in the country. Prior to tonight’s game we were 2nd in the country at 91.3%. Last season we shot 73.3% and wouldn’t have cracked this year’s Top 100.

Alexa Phillippou from ESPN talks about it in this column. The main issue seems to be Mulkey challenging players, including Reese, for their defensive effort (or lack thereof). LSU has plenty of time to figure things out. Their schedule is soft as goose down until they start SEC play in January. I think they will be just fine by the time March rolls around.
