Born in the USA to a Stanford alum and raised in the Seacliff neighborhood of San Francisco, Eileen Gu has declined to state her nationality on multiple occasions, but she stopped competing for the USA in 2019, and switched to compete for China. BTW, the USA recognizes dual nationality, China does not.
I don't care. Stanford has plenty of student athletes compete for other countries. Typically, they're actually born in those other countries, but there you go.

Mick's mention of Seacliff. Pretty ritzy. Robin Williams lived there until booted out by the wife (the old babysitter). Just down from the 17th green at Lincoln. In HS China Beach was the place to be. Loaded with girls from Convent, St. Rose and Burkes.

My son and seven of his friends spent their post-college years living in a grand old house in Seacliff. No idea why the landlord thought it was a good idea to rent to eight single males in their '20s, but they had a rip-roaring good time. It was a three level house; one lived in the finished attic (he was the shortest since the ceiling was only 6' and he was 5'8", but the views of the bay were extraordinary), five lived in the five bedrooms on the second floor, one (my son) lived in the converted family room on the ground floor, and one (journalist, paid the least, now covers Michigan sports) lived in a corner of the large garage. And yes, they spent a great deal of time at China Beach.
They've all recently turned thirty, and I think just one of the original eight remains in the house, but they had the times of their collective lives.

IIRC your sons both played volleyball. Would have been tough for the one in the house to take the attic.

Yale it is with 17 by my count. Bama has 16. Stanford has one but was robbed of one in 1940 when undefeated.
