As much as I thiink Haase should have been shown the door after last season, I will argue to my last breath that he was an excellent hire coming in the door. A great history as an assistant coach and took a mid-major from doormat to dance card in four seasons. It just hasn't worked out like anyone wanted/expected.

Taylor has found players at Sac State. Why do some people think that he can’t recruit?

I mean, I dunno if he *can't* recruit, but I do wonder whether a four-star lineman in New Jersey will give much of a spit about Taylor... at least until he does something of interest nationally. Any word on who the coordinators and staff might be? Any coaches being retained off Shaw's staff? I would imagine Troy Taylor won't be getting paid top of market to start, so there should be plenty of resources to put together a high quality staff.

I never heard David Shaw talk about recruiting as the top priority focus it must be, and the "you're lucky to get an offer" (paucity of offers) approach obviously hasn't worked out so well. Will be interesting to see if the Harbaugh more offers, not less, approach will be taken by Taylor.

Per the Sacramento Bee article today, Taylor is speculated to make $2-3 million. I really really hope Stanford didn't lose out on someone like Petersen by being cheap.

If we have a decent QB and TT still can't win (or if his playcalling causes us to lose), then yeah, that's my threshold.
