Jordan Poole was WAY too tentative against the Nuggets, kind of a microcosm of how lackadaisical the entire Warriors team was on Friday. But it is obvious from looking at the Box Score, the Nuggets bench dramatically outplayed the Warriors bench.
One thing we must recognize is that the Warriors don't "chase wins" as much as go through the season building to the playoffs, when they want to be at their peak. If teams like the Suns want to exhaust themselves during the regular season chasing the top seed, have at it.
They certainly didn't play with urgency against the Nuggets like the Nuggets played with against them, but still, even so, the W's lost by just 3 points.
Tonight will be interesting, as Sacramento played last night, but lost to the Clippers by just one point. Will the Warriors play with the intensity lacking in the first half against Denver? Will the Kings come out fired up?

During Fri eve's game, Warrior announcer said Klay is being eased back in. He didn't play much in preseason because of a "mental block" caused by worrying about reinjury. He suffered two serious injuries. Hope he's able to shake it.

Speaking of players who won't get extended. Klay's contract is for this year and next, when he'll be 33. Last night, he was 1 for 8 and 0 for 5 from 3 pt. range. It took him a while to get warmed up last year, assume the same will happen this year. I just don't see Klay getting extended starting at age 34 with two years of devastating injuries behind him.

Klay probably knows his best days are behind him, or if not, he will figure that out this season. I would not be surprised to see him stay with GS to the end of his career, maybe concurrent with the end of Curry's career. Maybe Thompson will renegotiate his contract so that it's effectively amortized over several years and then add something to compensate for the value he'll actually add and something for the convenience of helping the team avoid a bunch of luxury tax.
Green is a different story. His ego is getting in the way. I think he'll be gone this summer. His defense will be missed, but he's old enough that his defense next year probably won't be the same defense to which the Warriors have become accustomed. Ideally, Green would approve a sign and trade so that the Warriors can get some talent in return. Given the Warriors' cap situation, however, maybe they would prefer to just use the taxpayer's mid-level exception to sign a replacement. I could see a ring chaser who is a capable defender willing to sign for that amount.

Iirc, all of his threes were short. That's often been the case this season.

I've never seen Klay talking so much during a game. He's usually so focused and seems imperturbable. I imagine frustration must have played a role in the Suns trash talk getting under his skin.

I'm not on the Klay-is-terrible bandwagon just yet. He did very well in the playoffs last year, playing long minutes. Had a great series against Denver, did pretty well against Memphis and Dallas, then slowed down against Boston...
He's down on his numbers this year. I think he'll come back after about a month of working his way into the game.

Only thing that interests me is his “but it was on Amazon Prime” defense, given in I think his first press conference answering questions on the topic.
I feel like we shouldn’t want streamers to block all objectionable content, and yet I sorta understand Irving thinking that such a streaming platform would have vetted something before making it available.

Tolbert's partner, a black man named Copes (Copeland?) stated a belief that if a white player posted something about a KKK book or movie that the Empire that is the NBA would crush him. Tolbert agreed.

It is obvious that Kyrie Irving has previously been given a pass on behavior that probably a role player couldn't get away with. If he gets to continue spouting hate without significant consequences, then everyone understands that it's socially acceptable to be anti-Semitic.
