Yes, but I’m wondering about the meaning of this year’s. I know the genesis of the pirate’s hook, for instance from back when Jack Klein used to respond to roll call with an “aargh!”

Sounds about right. SCU had gone 1-2 against USC at USC, so SCU's four total baserunners (three singles and a walk) against Stanford sounds about right. SCU's #3 hitter had three strikeouts and a walk. My mental over/under for SCU wins this season is 16.
