I’ll be there as soon as I hit this one outta here.” Ruth gestured to the home dugout indicating that he would swallow the brat almost as fast as the Yanks were swallowing the Cubs.

The umpire in Larsen's game was a San Francisco native whose dad was killed in the '06 quake. I think he went to Mission High. It was the last game he umpired behind the plate in a long career. The last hitter was a pinch hitter who played mostly for the Indians.
