Brazil overtook the US for most deaths in a day today (though because of irregular reporting, deaths in the US tend to be a bit cyclical and reach a nadir on Sundays). (Reported) Deaths worldwide are down substantially from a peak April 17 of 8,429 to 2,826 yesterday, though as more developing nations are enmeshed, you can expect many COVID-19 deaths to go unreported. Yesterday, the countries that reported more than 100 deaths were (in descending order): Brazil, US, Mexico, India, Russia, UK. Spain is down to 74 deaths, and Italy is down to 50. China (if the numbers are to be believed) no longer has any deaths due to COVID-19.
