It seems like the California players are undervalued, maybe because of the extreme disruptions from last season/junior years? Zach Rowell is a great example. He's rated as the 95th-best DL in the nation by 247sports (not rated in the top 50 strongside DEs by Rivals), but, as SamuelMcF shared, has offers from Stanford, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Miami and Michigan, among others. Are there 94 DLs with a better offer sheet? I seriously doubt it.
In any case, here's hoping for the 40-year decision from Zach.
Book him.
Re ratings: this was the case for 2021 too, as many couldn't participate in 7-on-7 tournaments, junior summer camps, or even their senior seasons. Whereas guys like Austin Uke - formerly committed to Holy Cross without a single P5 offer - totally blew up based on senior film in states that went ahead with their seasons (he's from Texas). I hypothesize we'll see more "underrated" guys doing well from the 2 Covid-affected recruiting classes than from the average recruiting cycle.
