Raiders cave. Nobody has Mayock's back. Adios Mayock by mid season. How soon will Brown go thermonuclear diva again?
Outside Topic Antonio Brown
What were you thinking of? A Lattrell Spreewell/PJ Carlisimo dust-up?

But according to Gruden “deep down” Brown is a very good guy. Mayock may soon be wishing he was back in the booth. Here’s hoping for another miserable Rayduhs season.
The Raiders will solve this problem as a team. I envision a full pads practice, a drag route, high throw with Vontaze Burfict putting on the finishing touch. As he has done so well throughout his storied career.

Well, we know Brown knows he can share internal team convos with the public now. What’s next, he disagrees with a game plan, shares it in a video, and draws up the plays he wants to run instead? He’s already the GM, so does he become coach next?
What is perplexing to me is he spends all this energy trying to be known as more than just a football player, but never articulates what he wants and isn’t getting beyond being one. My guess is Brown doesn’t want to be a football player in his heart of hearts, but that he also wants the money he can have by being one. It would be analogous to someone knowing they are homosexual but not coming out of closet.
All Antonio Brown’s actions betray a guy who wants to be a media star more than a football player. I feel confident saying that if he could announce his football retirement in exchange for getting paid $30 million to be a media star, he would do it in a nanosecond. Because guys who really want to play don’t act like he is.
Jon Gruden asks Brown if he wants to be a Raider. What he should ask is if he wants to play football and hammer Brown with questions that reveal the answer he doesn’t want to give, A Few Good Men style.

One reason that my second favorite team is Army. And Navy. And Air Force. Antonio couldn’t hack the grind. Plus he would have to learn grammar.

I guess Gruden Realized he wasn’t a good guy after all after brown released the YouTube that included a taped phone call from Gruden. Which in California of course is a crime

Of course he goes to the Pats. Now I have to pretend that he's not a team-killing headcase. I guess we'll see how it goes. Too bad he can't play tomorrow, that would be amusing.

I mean, of course. He’ll probably play great for the Pats too.

Remember Randy Moss? There is a precedent for a player making the All-Diva team in Oakland a year before making the All-Pro team in New England.
In 1938 Neville Chamberlain declared "Peace in our time", Superman first appeared in Action Comics, Seabiscuit beat War Admiral ....... and C.a.l last won the Rose Bowl.

I tend to agree with you. This way, the Pats give up nothing to get him. They weren't willing to trade for him, but they will take a "free" look at him. He had to know that this was available. How long the Pats keep him is hard to know. Depends on him shutting up and playing football.

They actually did want to trade for him, and reportedly offered more than Oakland. But Pittsburgh was absolutely not going to send him there.

Interesting. How solid is that info? I ask because I didn't hear that (not a surprise, I don't really follow the NFL closely) and because it seems (to me) a bit out of character for the Patriots. I just can't imagine they expected a "good teammate" to suddenly show up. Not that they care that much about who you really are, they just don't want distractions on the field. Naturally, if the Pats really did want him previously, it makes the possible "tampering" idea more plausible.

This was printed publicly. Pittsburgh didn't want Brown in their division, so they took less to send him to Oakland.

This is a team that acquired/drafted Aaron Hernandez, Josh Gordon, and Randy Moss. The Patriots have no problem bringing talented players with character issues into the fold.
