Should have written "Stanford's five players were in threesomes that played. . ."  So 15 players total, 21-over.  Play has been stopped.  Players are averaging a plus-score every three holes.

All of the teams that did not complete their rounds today will re-start at 7 am tomorrow local time, play the remaining holes, then immediately start their 2nd round. Will be a long day for them.

Average score yesterday was just under 4 strokes over. So far today the average is right around E. And there's a lot less dispersion than there was for the women - had Huang not hit that triple bogie on 10, we'd be in the top 8. We really need to avoid having more than one player have a bad day; we had to count two +4s yesterday (and our fifth was a +5), and that's really hard to compensate for.

Stanford actually did a good job of salvaging what could have been a disastrous round. They butchered the easier front 9. But thanks to Huang's impressive 33 on the back and Salinda's solid 35, they were only +1 on the back. Wu needs a short memory to reclaim the form he had on Friday. The team does not need to go low to make the cut. It will probably take contributions 4 of the 5 players around par. However the team does need to go under par to contend for the top 8.

The top 15 teams get to play in the morning on Sunday. Stanford will play in the afternoon when the wind may pick up and the greens are firmer and more chewed up.  They start at 12 noon central with Florida and Northwestern.
