As a 49er fan get a jersey that says REID. Eric #35 for Niners; #8 his younger brother Justin for Stanford.
I am no longer a 49ers fan. Actually, I hope they lose every game they play. The York's ownership control has been a disgrace. The late , great Bill Walsh was the brains behind the 49ers success, and he is long gone. That team's departure from my home city of SF caused me to become a Raiders fan. Now that the Raiders are leaving I've decided that my "NFL team" will be the Miami Dolphins. This past March the NFL owners voted 31-1 in favor of a Raiders move to Las Vegas.
The lone "no vote" was cast by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, who stated My position today was that we as owners and as a League owe it to the fans to do everything we can to stay in the communities that have supported us until all options have been exhausted".
While the other owners voted "yes", presumably because they want access to some scantily clad young Las Vegas women, Ross had the integrity to vote no. For that I applaud him and now support his franchise. In fact, to be able to watch Dolphins games, I recently switched from cable to Direct TV. And, I've purchased a Dolphins hat.
On Saturday's I will root for Stanford , and very much look forward to attending the Cardinal home games.

I've been both a Stanford fan and a 49er fan since 1968. I haven't abandoned either, ever, but then I'm not a fair weather fan.
All things, even Jed York, must pass. And now that John Lynch is involved -- I've always loved the Stanford connections -- I am convinced that the Niners will rocket all the way from two wins last year to five wins this year.
