When I saw a story about how well she did in scrimmages I thought she might make it. Very happy for her that she did. Congrats!

This is terrific news. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to watch these games. Can't find any indication.
Furthermore, all these FIBA teams leave me confused. Is Alanna on Australia's U23 team? Is the Australian U23 team different from the Australian National Team? Could Alanna wind up playing against Britt?

Here's the weird thing - Australia doesn't seem to have an U23 national team - just an U19 team. So I don't know if one is being specially constituted for this event? Or they've just recently created one?
However, this Palo Alto online article seems to suggest that Alanna is on the "Emerging Opals" team that is effectively an U23 team, that will be playing at the World University Games in Chinese Taipei, so presumably that same team would play in Japan against the US U23 team for preparation?
Edited to add: This article about Baylor guard Kristy Wallace suggests that the Emerging Opals for the 2017 World University Games is not the same team as the U23 National Team, as she had already made the former and then was "invited to try out for" the latter.
SO tl;dr who knows?

You are going to need a healthy and strong team as there appears to be a Switcheroo for Stanfords opening game.

Interesting. I wondered if the UConn series would come back after Karlie graduated. That will be a tough game. We will have a very young and inexperienced team still figuring out 3 out of 5 of our positions, most likely. Gabby Williams, Kia Nurse, Katy Lou, Napheesa Collier are all long time starters. They lose only Chong, and Crystal Dangerfield is ready to move into the slot. We will face a very experienced UConn team that lost its last game and will be eager to atone, and we will do so with a young team that will probably be in flux.

Plus, in typical UConn fashion, they reload and not rebuild.
The Huskies add #1 recruit Megan Walker and Duke transfer Azura Stevens into the mix as well.
With Chong's graduation as their only significant loss (and in the grand scheme, not a very big one compared to who they are retaining and gaining), UConn will certainly be a favorite not just for our game, but to regain their national crown

Wow. Britt is on fire. Wish I could figure out a way to watch that. Nice to see Britt more than hold her own with the best players.
So is Alanna on the Aussie U23 team? Inquiring minds want to know if it will be Britt vs. Alanna.

Apparently not. USA played Australia in the opener and Alanna isn't in the box score. I guess Alanna had enough to do this summer, what with playing for the Australian senior team in the FIBA Asia Cup in India last month and with the Emerging Opals at the World University Games starting August 21.

I did not see the games, so I don't have any context for the stats:
Britt played 13 minutes off the bench in the 78-60 opening game victory over Australia. She had 6 points (3/5 shooting - 3/3 from inside the arc, but 0/2 from 3-point range) with 1 block and 1 steal, but no assists or rebounds.
Britt was much more impressive (at least stat-wise) in the 107-61 thrashing of Canada in the second game. One of three double digit scorers for Team USA, she scored 15 points on a perfect 7-7 shooting night and 1-1 from the FT line, though she did not attempt any 3 pointers. She also had 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. She only committed 1 personal foul and she did not turn the ball over either.
