After the Giants-Dodgers opener the other day, one needs to be clear that such comments are meant in jest. (There is a ":p" on the previous posting.)
To me, it is obvious that, despite all the comments that we fans make about our rivals, we would never intentionally harm or otherwise cause serious problems for them. (Except when such harm comes in the form of their embarrassment by losing.)
We tend to make comments, especially among friends, that are known by all who immediately hear it as in jest and not serious. But someone could quote such a comment out of context and imply a different interpretation.
