Some media report said that Ionescu had a B average in high school. But who knows what's true.Â
Stanford's unique admissions process makes it impossible to compare apples to apples when looking at other colleges. Many girls come to Tara's camps and become interested in Stanford basketball and would be highly inclined to accept an offer--until as they progress through high school they realize that they have too many Bs, or an SAT score that is a little low, or they struggle in their AP classes. So they don't apply and thus avoid rejection. That is where we lose the most prospects--not the rare cases like Katie Lou or Pivec. I wonder a lot about players like Kelsi Plum, or Mercedes Russell, or Monique Billings, for example.
But that is what makes Stanford, Stanford.
