... Fanaika's going to get more reps and an increasingly important role.Â
We haven't usually seen major upheavals in the OL midseason, and we also don't usually see much subbing along the OL. For Fanaika to get significantly more reps, one of the two will have to happen.
Last year was a partial exception to that rule. We starting moving to a mode where Shuler came out on short yardage, Caspers moved to center, and Bright came in at guard. Perhaps there come be some situational condition where Fanaika will sub for Bright this year.
I did rather like the look of the OL on the one series where Fanaika substituted for Bright in the KSU game, but it was only 5 plays so hard to know if it really meant anything.

Ugh. Without computer for four days. Sorry for the copy-cat/near copy-cat prediction.

Wait, don't you always pick 42-10? You are going to mess me up, I was all set to pre-populate the rest of the games.

42-10 is so last year. This year I'm going with unbridled enthusiasm. Look for prediction of Stanford scoring 80 at some point if I'm feeling it.

Don't worry, Teejers will make his customary contrarian pick any minute.

I've resisted all week. I can't bring myself to decide between a convincing win or eeking one out. I guess I"ll play the optimist.

Or my subconscious could do it. Last night (addled from a "JUST GO TO THE ***** TO SLEEP" baby horrorshow) I had a dream that, despite going up 10-0 in the first quarter, we ended up losing 26-29. So you can put that to prediction to "Stupac's sleep-deprived subconscious takes the contrarian bullet".

Vegas predicts: 30.5 - 22, Stanford wins. We'll round up to 31-22.

If only someone had a spreadsheet that tracked the ESPN bloggers picks...
HEre are Chantel Jennings picks for last year:
Stanford 20, UCF 13
USC 35, Stanford 17 (fool her once)
Stanford 45, Arizona 31
Stanford 27, UCLA 24
Stanford 31, UW 24
Stanford 35, WSU 31 (she won that week)
Stanford 38, Colorado 17
Oregon 42, Stanford 38 (one of three to pick against us that week, along with Ted Miller and Teejers)
Cal 42, Stanford 35 (oops)
Stanford 31, ND 24
USC 35, Stanford 28 (fool her twice)
Maybe we really should be worried that she picked us to beat USC. I think the only egregious pick was the Cal pick.
