Wait, don't you always pick 42-10? You are going to mess me up, I was all set to pre-populate the rest of the games.

This being my first home game since my 20th reunion. I am going with the following:
The school I went too: 46
The school that offered me the best financial aid: 16
The defense will knock Browne out of the game in the third quarter with a minor injury (AKA he refuses to go back in).

The difference between S&P+, which has us and USC about even, hence the difference just being home field, and FEI, which has us as being much, much, better than USC is intriguing to me. It seems like this happens every year, for whatever reason one of those systems hates us while the other loves us.

I have decided to operate under the assumption that the University of Sporting Chaos is going to demonstrate that once again, as in recent years, they have been over-rated as a result of the the mismatch between their excellent recruiting class rankings and the ensuing coaching weakness. Each year I admit that I am uncertain what they will be: is it real or is it Memorex? The total annihilation of the Toe-jams by Bama is a major input, and the comments in the injury thread suggest to me that they will underperform most of the season. Mind you, these are basically intuitions, so they could be embarrassingly wrong. Time will tell. But I'm going with the premise that they are riddled w/ vulnerabilities yet possess ridiculous individual talent.
Sounds like much of the missing talent is on the defensive side and mostly in the front seven. Plus, we have Love back (presumably), even if not at full throttle. Our offense has some uncertainties but only because they have only played one game. They have ridiculous talent at many positions. Fanaika's going to get more reps and an increasingly important role. Overall, our offense seems poised for a rocket ride. If they are operating on only a majority of cylinders, I think they score sufficiently to beat LMFL. If they are operating on all cylinders, the freakin' sky is the limit!
When we are on defense we will be hurt by the absence of Phillips. Wadkins's ability to fill in and maintain pressure will be key. Many of our sacks against KSU were coverage sacks. The KSU QB's were fairly mobile and it took quite a while to hunt them down and nail them. Other than the safety there were not a lot of straight up the gut parties in the backfield. Without that quick-hitting sack potential, combined with Mordor's excellent receivers life may be quite a bit tougher for our defensive backfield. They will be hard-pressed to give our D-Line the time it may need to put pressure on Browne. Thankfully, Browne's lack of mobility will offset this to a great extent. I haven't developed much sense of their O-Line. I guess lots of recruiting stars, but Alabama didn't seem impressed.
Bottom line?

Hidden in there was a substantial prediction.
We haven't usually seen major upheavals in the OL midseason, and we also don't usually see much subbing along the OL. For Fanaika to get significantly more reps, one of the two will have to happen.
Last year was a partial exception to that rule. We starting moving to a mode where Shuler came out on short yardage, Caspers moved to center, and Bright came in at guard. Perhaps there come be some situational condition where Fanaika will sub for Bright this year.
I did rather like the look of the OL on the one series where Fanaika substituted for Bright in the KSU game, but it was only 5 plays so hard to know if it really meant anything.
