As was posted elsewhere, the BYU coach must be an active member of the LDS church. That makes Lance Anderson one of the few qualified candidates. I'll be happy for Lance if he gets the job, but I'd rather see BYU hire someone else. Some other LDS candidates are listed below. I'd rather have one of them get the job.

- Ken Niumatalolo, head coach, Navy

- Kilani Sitake, defensive coordinator, Oregon St.

- Robert Anae, offensive coordinator, BYU

- Darrell Bevell, offensive coordinator, Seattle Seahawks

- Jay Hill, head coach, Weber State

Long shots:

- Kyle Whittingham, head coach, Utah

- Andy Reid, head coach, Kansas City Chiefs

Most Seahawk fans I know would be happy to get rid of Bevell.

As a BYU fan, I'd put my wish list in this order:

Bevell
Anderson
Niumatalolo
Sitake

According to a lot of people, Sitake would almost certainly say yes, so any candidates below him are irrelevant.

Of the four above, only Sitake has strong connections to BYU. The others are LDS, but have never attended or coached at BYU.

Do good to see that the Magic Underwear folks don't demand that the next coach be Caucasian.
