My hopes are resting on Anderson and Akina and their coaching cohorts to continue the defensive development. This could be a pivotal game in which the defense could truly impress observers. UCLA's defense doesn't get much respect right now, but folks still think the offense is explosive. Our defense could make a serious impression, I think, even just holding UCLA to 20. In the meantime our offense gets to demonstrate how they can dial it up and crank it up and light it up.

Stanford wins 42-27. The Bruins have not faced an offence like the Cardinal this year, and have lost a lot of talent on defense because of injuries. Rosen et al will score some points, but they won't have the ball long enough to get into the 30s.Â

The Bruins D is badly dinged up, and I think Anderson is good enough to have a plan to foil Rosen and the UCLA offense. It's close probably 3 quarters, but we pull away in the 4th. And just because it would be fun to score 40 again...
