Hello fellow '83 graduate. It's true, there are debates on this board over the most trivial of details of some distant event. All in good humor, most of the time. There is no doubt that reading posts on this board will increase your knowledge.
I knew Rob Moore at the Farm. He was a character. I've got a story involving Rob. When I graduated from Law School I bought the travel guide Let's Go To Europe, a youth hostel membership card, a two month Eurorail Pass, a soft duffel bag that converted to a backpack, and a one-way ticket on Yugoslav Air to Athens. My first stop on my European adventure was to be the Greek Islands. I traveled solo. Getting to the island of Ios was an adventure in and of itself, but I finally arrived on a ferry boat at about 11 PM. I was told that there were no hotel rooms available on the island, but that I could sleep at the campground at the beach on the other side of the island. It was about a 2 mile walk to this beach. About half way there I spotted a tavern on the side of the road from which I could hear music. Being tired, hot, and quite sweaty, I decided that a beer was in order. When I entered the small tavern there were only three people present, the Greek bartender, a pretty blonde girl, and Rob Moore. We downed a few beers and caught up on our life stories after Stanford. The blonde was Rob's girlfriend. It turns out that they were leaving the next morning and they convinced the owner of the inn in which they were staying to rent me the room after they checked out. For $12/night, including a breakfast of coffee, bread and marmalade, I got a clean room on a cliff with a gorgeous view overlooking the clothing optional beach below. I spent a week there before continuing my adventure to other parts of Europe.
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.
