Excuse my cynicism, but I think Hayden and U$€ knew exactly how this works.  Their goal was to get people talking about Hayden and autism research and not Hayden being a total tool for coming down to harangue the officials when Sarkisian cried to him.  And you know what, it worked.

All that being said, Hayden is giving $25,000 to autism research and paying his fine.  Was he a total douche doing it?  Yes.  But hey, not worth complaining too much about the charitable aspect of this.

Of course he really had no choice but to follow through with the donation, did he?  I think he knows he looks like a jerk, just wants to be looked at as a lovable jerk.  Worked.
