The NCAA MVB championship start on Friday with 12 teams participating. Eight teams participate in a play-in situation for the rights to advance against the top four seeds, which are UCLA (1), Hawaii (2), Long Beach State (3) and Ball State (4).
The winner of UC-Irvine and Penn State play UCLA.
The winner of Pepperdine and Fort Valley State play Ball State.
The winner of USC and Belmont Abbey play Hawaii.
The winner of Loyola Chicago and St. Francis play Long Beach State.
All matches are on Friday, May 1. All quarterfinals are the next day, May 2. Semifinals are on May 9, Championship is on May 11. Those matches will be played at UCLA.
Well, the 2026 MVB season's in the books with my second favorite team - Hawaii - taking down UC Irvine in 4 sets, 15-25, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20 in Pauley. Imua!!!
