All BCS scenarios of any kind are dust in the wind. Find one from last week, for instance, that didn't start with Alabama in the championship game.

After next week, the number of options will perhaps be reduced to a comprehensible number, but even, the games have to be played. And if we don't win the conference, then we have no claim on the Rose Bowl. Any team besides the Big 10 and Pac-12 champions is an arbitrary selection.

Absolutely true.  But boy how fun is it for us to realistically be in the discussion for a BCS bowl at this point of the season.
