So I don't assume that athlete transfers such as Taitz are necessarily punting on a Stanford degree, or that they are dissatisfied with the the school as a whole, in fact I assume that the decision is driven by athletics, and that after having accumulated several years of credit here they plan to return at some point and receive their diploma.

I don't think assuming this about Taitz, who immediately listed his Twitter status as "Free Agent" right after entering the portal, is a sound assumption.
