The guards will get a good gauge of readiness. Texas' coach is Vic Schaefer who loves to pressure the ball.True, true, but we do have Clarke on Saturday, an online talk with Tara on Monday, and Morgan State on Thursday, and I hope we will glean more information about how the team is developing from those events prior to Texas. Texas, however, will be the first game when we truly see Tara's thinking on point guard, I suspect. This early in the season the other four starters from last year will certainly be starting again regardless of how others develop, but Texas will not be an experiment the way the Morgan State and Clarke could be. Tara will put the best point guard on the court. Seeing who she chooses, and seeing who she rotates into the game when it is in doubt, will tell us volumes about the direction this season may go. If one of the freshmen get playing time against Texas while the game is competitive (could be the whole game, but we don't know how it will go) that I would say bodes well. If Agnes gets significant playing time against Texas, that bodes well. What will the bigs rotation look like? It will be fascinating to see.
