Boy, that will make for some awkward practice field interviews in the future.
"Hey, coach! Got a minute?"
"&^%$ you!\'
I\'m trying to find the analogy. Is Neuheisel:
a) UCLA\'s Tom Holmoe? One could hope, but at least Neueheisel came into the job with a decent body of work on the field despite all his weaselyness.
b) UCLA\'s Wlat Harris? One could also hope. Harris had accomplishment in his background despite his suicidal acceleration into the brick wall. But so far Neuheisel has kept UCLA trajectory fairly flat, which Wlat couldn\'t do.
c) UCLA\'s Paul Hackett? God\'s gift to Stanford football during the Willingham years, Hackett managed a regime of mediocrity that never really sucked that badly, but sucked enough that some weaker programs got a chance to poke their noses into the upper tier.
and, of course, the worst choice:
d) UCLA\'s Gods-of-Woofing Redemption coach? Exhibit A that if a school sticks with a basically good coach, eventually he will lead them out of the wilderness.
