Donner Street Party my frosh year - we hosted a 65 keg party, and everyone and their mother (and daughter) showed up. Â Or so it seemed.
Yeah, I think it\'s safe to say that things have changed. Â And probably for the better . . . at least on the extreme bash front. Â But damn, those non-fraternity all-campus affairs - Donner Street Party (Donner), Rincadelts (Rinconada), Splendor in the Grass (Manzanita/Trailers), and Beta Nooners (a frat, but not a weekend night event), etc. - were a lot of fun.
And it\'s also true that the geography of Stanford is somewhat unique and lessens the danger associated with drinking generally, as others have noted (i.e., people on campus can get home without driving). Â In bigger schools with more commuting, you just can\'t have those kind of free for all parties.
