Basically, it's all the University of Dead Fake Girlfriends's fault.

I don't think it's in any way UND's "fault". They've taken a perfectly legitimate position that they want to alternate 'SC and Stanford for Thankgiving in CA. We've accepted those terms. It's Stanford and Ca'l's own fault/choice we aren't willing to play Big Game on Thanksgiving week and it's Stanford, US'C and the Pac12's fault/choice to allow us to play UND that weekend against league policy.

We just have to live with the consequence of those choices. Personally, I'm fine sacrificing a little scheduling inconvenience to maintain a high profile game against a national brand opponent. How much of a boost did Gerhart, Luck and McCaff get by playing UND during Thanksgiving weekend? How much did it help our bowl profile? In both cases, I'd say it helps a lot.

And I actually don't see any problem with the team feasting on a little Rice before the CCG weekend. Maybe the national polls will forget themselves and think that we're in the SEC with a late season creampuff opponent.

Personally, I'd feel a lot better about the scheduling choices if Stanford athletes had won a Heismann or two, and Stanford had been granted a rightful place in the playoffs.
