1) Clemson
2) Oklahoma State
3) TCU
4) Baylor
5) Mighigan State
6) Ohio State
7) Iowa
8) LSU
9) Houston
10) Memphis
Of the power 5, the Big 12 is the only conference that will automatically work itself out with each team playing each other, and the B10 will work itself out with the championship game. Even Houston and Memphis will play each other.
To me, this is a much more tolerable list, even if you put the Big12 last alphabetically.
Of that Top 10 undefeated list, it's only possible for 5 teams to go undefeated; Clemson, LSU, a B1G, a Big 12, and an AAC team. But, I still don't think the Big 12 would deserve a team in, unless that team is Oklahoma or TCU, because OU and TCU are the only contending teams in the Big 12 who bothered to schedule a Power 5 OOC opponent.
OOC for
Baylor: SMU, Lamar, Rice
TCU: Minnesota, Stephen F. Austin, SMU
Okie State:Â Central Michigan, Central Arkansas, UTSA
Oklahoma: Akron, Tennessee, Tulsa,
Only TCU and Oklahoma even played a Power 5 OOC opponent.Â
Compare to the Top Pac-12:
Stanford: Northwestern, UCF, Notre Dame
Oregon: Eastern Washington, Georgia State, Michigan State
Utah: Michigan, Utah State, Fresno State
UCLA: UVA, UNLV, BYU
That's four teams in the first Top-25 playoff rankings for the Pac-12 OOC and ZERO for the Big 12.Â
