We should be able to figure this out, right? We were all 18 once? Doesn't help.
I have an 18 year old - Don't bet the farm (or not bet on "The Farm") based upon the weekly vicissitudes of an 18 year old male's internet musings.Â
The subterranean streams of ego, irrational emotion, parental expectations, trying to stake out an independent identity and the \weight of all the testosterone for the under 20 male set - well, decision making just isn't rational or linear. Â
And MY son is just trying to navigate his first summer job, get out of bed on time and figure out how to deal with his first serious GF. Add in the weightiness of an internet audience, the ponderous self-importance of NCAA football and a college world seeming to hang on your every tweet? For an 18 YEAR OLD ?!?!
Take a deep breath and remember it's a long road race, there's lots of good runners and we're still in June.
