Good point. Still, attending the Florida State game and the Harvard game WERE about as much fun as hitting your thumb with a hammer. If you were there you'd agree.Â
They were years ago but I still can call up images of the FSU fans doing the gawd-awful tomahawk chop chant in the Maples rafters while their players bullied Candice Wiggins around on the floor and our other players looked paralyzed by the pressure. The Harvard game approached with a mounting feel of doom among Cardinal fans with each Stanford injury (Kristin Folkl blew out her ACL the week of the game). Plus the more we read up on our opponent the more we realized that Harvard was seriously under rated. Still, we couldn't really lose to a 16 seed, right? Right?
Trust me you wouldn't have enjoyed walking out of Maples after either game and might have grabbed a hammer too.
