THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR TAKING PART IN THE TOBY FOR HEISMAN GRASS ROOTS CAMPAIGN!

First, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write this message--I've been absolutely swamped the last few weeks.

Second, thank you for joining this cause and letting your enthusiasm for Toby and love of Stanford Football outride any other questions your rational mind was asking ("How do I know this will really work?" "Is this below us?" "Shouldn't I be doing actual work right now?"). If you've been following stiffarmtrophy.com, you know that this Heisman is an extremely close campaign, and Toby, Ingram, or Suh are capable of winning it.

As Dagvib mentioned, I honestly believe we made a positive difference for Toby, and in a tight race like this, every single vote counts. Just to cite a few small examples: a writer who had never mentioned Toby in any of his four previous Heisman Candidate Updates replied to my email agreeing with my sentiments about Toby.  Adam Zuvanich wrote http://www.redraiders.com/2009/12/08/zuvanich-request-for-help-with-heisman-v..., "And because I soliticited input from fans, and Gerhart was the clear favorite, I felt compelled to put him on my ballot."

The Toby For Heisman Grass Roots Campaign got mentioned in the NY Times http://bayarea.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/12/01/toby-gerhart-and-the-campaign-for..., Ingram Country http://blog.al.com/kevin-scarbinsky/2009/12/real_heisman_winners_dont_wear.html , and even got a thank you from Toby himself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn157kQYF3k !

2 hours from now, we'll find out if Toby gets to take home a 45 pound trophy. But no matter what, we all know that Toby Gerhart truly is the nation's most outstanding college football player. And we also know that we did everything we could to inform the rest of the world about this as well.

Again, thank you for being part of this and letting your voices be heard (and also to whomever came up with the #tobyforheisman twitter campaign as well as http://tobyforheisman.blogspot.com/).

TOBY FOR HEISMAN!

It was a great ride, even if the other player wearing red ended up winning the trophy.  Toby's color choices tonight (grey, grey, black) did tell me something about whether he knew he'd win or not.  

Toby was second with a margin of 28 points!  Oh man

I really want to thank Goodgrief and everyone (else) who did anything to support the campaign for Toby. It was a valiant effort for a just cause. Even if he didn't win, we all know who the best running back in the country is. Go Toby!
