Northwestern looks positively ghastly awful at Duke.

Thorson is 5-18 for 38 yards.
Northwestern has 19 yards rushing on 20 carries.
58 yards of total offense.

They trail 3-7 at Duke through half, and the only reason they have 3 is due to a Duke fumble inside their own 40 that NU recovered.

Fortunately transitive scores don't mean diddly.

I think we all realized that when we lost to them that NW was no national power.

It looks like they are going to get by Duke, although not particularly impressively.

About 600 combined offensive yards. Sounds like an ugly game.

Duke was in "others receiving votes" in both the AP and Coaches polls. NW beat them at Duke, and could have had more points at the end, (appropriately)  taking knees for the last couple plays inside the NW 10 yard line. No reason to think NW is a first tier team, but might move into the top 20.

Oops...meant to say inside the Duke 10 yard line.

Northwestern is for real.  I thought Duke was legitimate, and in fact the most underrated team in the country, before they came in and beat them.  The stats of NW's QB are ghastly, but he seems to have a knack for doing enough to win the game (like Hogan in 2012 and arguably even Josh Nunes before him).  Their defense has played absolute HAVOC with every offense they have faced so far, which is good news for us obv.

That UConn-Mizzou game is good for us too as it makes USC's demolition of Arkansas State look less ominous.

No, it just makes the Tigers' offense look like crap, which is the way I've seen the last two games, even through a homer's black & gold lens.  :-[

It won't matter. They will still win the SEC East.
