This all seems very Dean-Fred-Hargadon to me.
Back when I applied to Stanford, my word was "hopeful." Interestingly enough, that same word reflects my feelings about Stanford football 2014.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)

I love the word choice and I agree with it 100%. When we are 6-0 heading to ASU I think we will be a lot more appreciated.

I would prefer underestimated to underappreciated.
