If a basketball game is played and no one talks about it on a message board, did Stanford still win? FWIW, it keeps us alive on the bubble but not much more. We have to start sweeping week ends.

We will be a bubble team until we lose 9 Pac 12 games. We finished 5-4 in the first half. If we do the same in second half, we will be a bubble team headed into the Pac 12 tourney. It really isn't that hard to make the tourney with 68 teams. It would be a travesty if Powell and Randle never made it the NCAA tourney in their careers. The talent and the experience are there.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)

We didn't feed Powell so much as he discovered his jump shot. He was 2-4 on 3 pointers plus several additional long jumpers. If he can stretch the defense with outside shots then great.
I can't find any video, but Chasson Randle had the shot of the year yesterday, a crazy reverse layup in traffic. He switched hands (seemingly) in mid-air and tossed the ball high over his shoulder. It came down straight into the net. Insane play--Jarron Collins likened it to Michael Jordan.
