Wow. I remember when this story made the news last year even though the incident occurred in 2009. Amazing they covered it up for so long and then decide to expel him years later. And he was still allowed to play in the sugar bowl even after being expelled. Nothing here adds up. And he's also not facing charges.

I heard on reddit that the university's policy changed somehow and that's what brought this about. I think there was some confusion in the initial incident about whether the accuser wanted to go through with the accusation process.
I haven't followed it closely though, so I may be wrong. But there's some explanation for the weird timing.
